Nick Baker

Clinical Psychologist
I work with children, adolescence and adults, in individual and couples/relationship therapy to support a range of presentations, including: depression and anxiety disorders, low self-esteem and confidence issues, relationship difficulties as well as sex and intimacy concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder, specific phobias, PTSD, life transitions, exploration of gender & sexual diversity, and their intersections with diversity in culture and religion.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’m passionate about working with other members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their relationships. I’ve published research exploring the relationships of the LGBTQIA+ community, and continue to passionately focus on this area in both clinical practice and research.
Another key focus of my work is couples and relationships therapy. I support and partners through relationship difficulties such as emotional or sexual disconnection, conflict, adjustment life transitions, parenting support, values differences, infidelity, and navigation of ethical non-monogamy.
My Approach

I believe the foundation of therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship. I’m committed to building strong, secure, and authentic connections with all my clients, using warmth, compassion, humour, and care. I feel incredibly fortunate to be in this profession, and deeply value and enjoy the relationships I build with my clients.
I value open and intentional communication with my clients, including nurturing our therapeutic rapport to ensure you feel heard, understood and supported. Beyond this foundation, my practice is based on the the use of evidence-based therapies and providing these tailored to your individual needs, and our shared formulation and understanding of your presenting concerns and the factors contributing to them.
